Event

Team AWESOME is a unique Run-a-thon that will take place on April 25, 2010. This is a free event in which kids ages 6-14 will volunteer in running one mile or more, around Albiani Middle school’s track. Leading up to the event, community partners, business’ and individuals will donate funds towards each mile ran. There will be booths, service tables and thousands of participants.

Our goal is to not only raise community awareness, parental involvement and childhood activity, but our goal is to raise $20,000 to benefit local high school fitness clubs. Funds will be raised through various streams including company sponsorship, team donations, and individual registrations.

As part of our marketing strategy, Team AWESOME’S founding members will also run 100-miles each in one week, raising additional coverage of the overall event. Their efforts and message will be captured on a video blog that can be viewed daily on our website, www.goteamawesome.org.

We are partnering with Fitness Without Borders, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit devoted to the development and fitness education of community leaders organized in a unified effort to foster healthy children. Any funds raised will be 100% donated and tax-deductable.
