As the New Year began, I wrote down my goals and resolutions just like many of you did. This year a goal of mine is to run a 100 mile race. I’ve never ventured down this path before, and the last Ultra I ran was the American River 50 (which I Did Not Finish). I’ve run two Ultra’s, both 50 milers (completing one), a few marathons, and a few more half marathons. I don’t consider myself a “runner”, just someone who run’s when convenient. That convenience portion has always been my Achilles healJ. With a 3 ½ year old daughter and 6-month old daughter, timing is always tough (usually 4am runs during the week ) and squeezing in a long run on the weekend. I’m determined to show my daughters that activity is always better than inactivity and prove to them that it can be fun also.

The new purpose of this blog has temporarily changed from its original purpose and I plan on allowing it to guide me rather than I guide it. Over the course of the next few months I will be periodically writing my experiences with training for the 100-mile race I’ve chosen. My hope is that it will inspire others to become active too.

Still moving along with this idea. Just had a small setback with an injury. Today was the first day I ran since April 10th and had a blast with my nephew. See the attached pic.Nolan_2010_06_02

Back in the game….had an injury but going to start fighting the fight again. This is my first day back….had a great time with my nephew, Nolan! We ran a 5K on Memorial Day!!!!
